Our volunteer roles are varied and interesting; hours are flexible so fit well with family or other existing commitments and, best of all, there is always a good supply of tea and biscuits!

Paid Opportunities
We not not currently have any paid roles available.
Paid roles are always advertised in our news section and on our facebook page.
If you are interested in working for us in the future, volunteering with us is a great way to learn more about our organisation and gain valuable experience!
Trustees
Our trustees are responsible for setting the direction of the organisation and helping it to remain solvent so joining our board gives you an opportunity to make a real difference to the effectiveness and sustainability of our charity. This role requires occasional daytime and evening meetings and a time commitment of approximately 2 days per month.

Volunteer Advisers
We recruit volunteers regularly throughout the year. No prior experience is needed – you just need to be friendly, non-judgmental, and willing to learn. Initially working as an Assessor, you will be trained on the job by our supervisors, who are always available to answer questions and provide support. Should you progress to Adviser training, you will receive a Citizens Advice qualification which is widely recognised.

Disability Benefits Team
This specialist service offers home visits for those living with long-term conditions. Volunteers help with applications for Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Personal Independent Payment (PIP). They also provide advice on financial issues or care needs such as purchasing aids and appliances, getting a blue badge, or lowering fuel bills.

Research & Campaigns
The day-to-day experiences of our clients often highlight unfairness or simply mad policies and procedures. With their agreement we often write to government departments, our local MP, local councillors or service providers to highlight our concerns. More voices really help! See our campaigns page for more information.
Flexible Roles & Internships
We offer internship roles for students who wish to gain valuable experience with us for a minimum of four weeks during vacation periods.
We also have projects or activities that sometimes just require short bursts of volunteer time.
For the latest opportunities, keep an eye on our News page, follow us on Twitter or like our facebook page.
We love people with Language Skills who can act as occasional translators and would dearly like a volunteer who is confident communicating in British Sign Language. Please email jo.hancock@uttlesfordca.org.uk if you can help.
