Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Personal Independent Payment (PIP) are crucial in covering the extra costs involved in living with a disability. For some just getting access to advice can be very difficult and there are many people in Uttlesford who do not claim these benefits, even though they may be entitled.
How we can help
Our Disability Benefits team offers continuity of care, confidentiality and time to talk. Help can be arranged for those who need support making applications or filling in complex forms. Our team can also advise on financial issues or care needs, such as purchasing aids and appliances, getting a blue badge, or lowering fuel bills.
“Knowledge has been key in me getting PIP. I didn’t have it but the lady from Uttlesford Citizens Advice certainly did and without her I am sure my application would have been unsuccessful.”
We regularly help with:
- Applications for Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance
- Carer’s Allowance and other support
- Passported benefits such as the motability scheme
- Support planning
